Habitat LA ReStores sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Should I donate this to the Habitat ReStore?

Yes, most Habitat ReStores offer pickup of furniture donations, as well as other large items like appliances and building materials. The money raised by Habitat ReStores helps families build a decent and affordable place to call home. When the items you donate to ReStore are sold, the money helps families achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better future. The HMP also focuses on protecting rare and endangered species, maintaining the health of barrier island ecosystems, and building climate resilience throughout the Parker River and Thacher Island Refuges by allowing for, or restoring, natural processes. Each April, our Home is the Key campaign highlights the importance of home and draws on the strength and support of you – Habitat’s tremendous community – to help more families in need of affordable housing. Whatever your project, don’t let the items you no longer need end up in your local landfill. Habitat ReStore staff and volunteers make the donation process as simple as possible. You can always donate goods in person, and many Habitat ReStores offer free pickup of large items. As far as caring for a bottlebrush tree, this is a relatively relaxed plant that doesn't ask for much. Although it appreciates regular watering, it's drought-tolerant and can handle forgetfulness from gardeners as well as soil that doesn't drain well. Because it's an understory tree, it also doesn't need to be planted in an area with loads of sun exposure.
Your purchases and donations help families build and improve places to call home so they can achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives. All proceeds support Habitat LA’s mission to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope. Join us through one of the various volunteer opportunities available including; building new homes, renovating and repairing existing homes owned by other veterans, working in our ReStores, serving on committees or special event teams, and more. In addition, we offer programs for children and young people to instill “service over self” as a value.
